Learning About Our Special Village – Cake Sale at Colwinston Village Hall

As part of our topic learning about what makes Colwinston a special village, we had the wonderful opportunity to learn more about the many different ways the village hall is used. We were lucky to listen to Mr David Frost, the Village Hall Chairman, who came into class and told us all about its importance to the community.

Inspired by this, we decided to hold our very own event at the village hall – a Cake Sale!

To get ready, we designed colourful posters to tell everyone about the event and got busy baking delicious cakes. The children had so much fun preparing their tasty treats.

On the day of the sale, the village hall was buzzing with excitement! Our Year 6 buddies were a big help, supporting us as we sold our cakes. It was wonderful to see so many members of the community coming along to support us. The PTFA kindly joined in too, serving teas and coffees to accompany all the delicious treats.

The event was a big success – not only did everyone enjoy themselves, but we also raised lots of money! The funds will go towards buying new equipment for our class, which we are really excited about.

A big thank you to everyone who came to support us – and to Mr Frost for helping us learn about the special role the village hall plays in Colwinston life
