Easter through the keyhole

Year 2 visited Hope Chapel in Porthcawl as part of their Easter studies.

They had a wonderful and memorable experience learning about the story of Easter in a hands-on and exciting way. They took part in a range of activities that helped bring the story to life, including making their own special fisherman’s hats before setting off “to sea” in a boat, where they met Jesus’ disciple, Peter. As they continued on their journey, they visited the table of the Last Supper and learnt about its importance, before moving on to the foot of the cross, where they reflected on the events of Good Friday. They then visited the empty tomb, which helped Year 2 understand the joy and hope of Easter Sunday. They even had the chance to feed some chickens, adding to the fun of the day! This visit really helped the children to deepen their understanding of the Easter story in an engaging and meaningful way.
