Nature Detectives
Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed their ‘Tree Tuesday’ sessions, during which they explored the conservation area and embraced the role of nature detectives. Throughout the experience, they took part in a variety of engaging activities, including creating nature bracelets, making leaf rubbings, and producing natural dyes from leaves. While sharing hot chocolate outdoors, the children reflected on the calm and peacefulness that nature can bring. They also learnt about the power of the natural world and considered why some people view places in creation as sacred. Using viewfinder windows, the children discovered their own special sacred spaces, which inspired them to create prayer flags. Learning that some cultures tie prayers so they can blow in the breeze, the children used their flags to help create a beautiful prayer garden.
