Year 6 had a fantastic and memorable day taking part in Crucial Crew at Barry Fire Station, where they were given the opportunity to develop many important life skills through a variety of engaging practical activities and interactive workshops. Throughout the day, the pupils met with a range of professionals, including emergency services and community workers, who shared valuable advice, real-life experiences, and guidance on topics such as personal safety, making responsible choices, first aid, and working together as a team. The children showed excellent enthusiasm, maturity, and respect as they took part in each session, asking thoughtful questions and learning skills that will benefit them both now and in the future.
To round off a brilliant day, the pupils visited Porthkerry Country Park, where they enjoyed some time to relax and celebrate their hard work. In the warm sunshine, everyone tucked into a picnic, spent time with friends, and enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream, making it the perfect ending to a fun, educational, and rewarding experience.
