Year 2 - Outdoor learning environment

As the days get longer and the sun starts to shine a little brighter, in Year 2 we’ve been busy making some exciting improvements to our outdoor learning environment. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy them!

We’ve created a fantastic new stage where children can let their imaginations run wild—putting on plays, singing songs, or designing the backdrops. It’s already proving to be a hit with our budding performers!

We also have our very own construction site. Here, children can get hands-on with building, measuring, and exploring numbers in a real-world setting.

We’ve also added a water investigation area and  a sand area, along with a brand-new mud kitchen. These sensory spaces are brilliant for creative play—and yes, they’re a little bit messy, but that’s half the fun!

Our Curriculum Cabin is giving children the chance to build their research skills. Whether they’re diving into books or working on small group projects, it’s a space full of curiosity and discovery.

And the best is still to come! Our Year 2 children are working hard to open their very own garden centre next term. From planting to potting, they’ll be learning all about how things grow and helping to brighten up our outdoor spaces along the way.

We’re so proud of the way these spaces are coming together, and we can’t wait to see how the children make the most of them during the summer months.
