As part of our Tales from Wales topic, Reception and Year 1 had a fantastic time on their recent school trip to Fonmon Castle.

While we were there, we were captivated by an amazing storyteller who brought Welsh legends to life. He told us the exciting tale of how the mighty red dragon defeated the white dragon, became the protector of Wales, and earned its special place on the Welsh flag. The children listened beautifully and were thrilled by the dramatic story.

After the storytelling session, we enjoyed a lovely woodland walk around the castle grounds. The children had great fun exploring nature and searching for signs of the red dragon hidden amongst the trees!

It was a wonderful day filled with imagination, adventure and lots of learning about Welsh heritage. Da iawn, Reception and Year 1!
