Our PTA

What does the PTA do?

The PTFA is a charity that raises money for the St David’s School through events and initiatives throughout the year from the Christmas Fairs, Easter Egg Hunts, Pumpkin Spice Disco, movie nights, non-uniform days, trips to the theatre and much, much more.

What does the PTA spend its money on?

The PTFA liaises with the school to decide what equipment and resources are needed the most. The purchases are always used to enrich the children's education. For example, we have raised money for IT equipment, PE equipment, resources for reading, and playtime equipment.

How does the PTA help the school?

The PTFA provides events such as the Christmas Concerts and Summer Sports Day by providing refreshments and additional help on the day. We attend Open Days to show prospective parents our commitment to providing extra resources for our pupils so that they have the very best education. We also provide little treats for the children such as Christmas gifts and Year 6 leavers’ gifts.

How do I get involved in the PTFA?

We are always looking for support for our fundraisers or events. You don’t need to be on the committee, we’re always looking for people to help out. If you’re not able to give time but you or your business could donate funds or prizes for raffles etc, that is also very much appreciated.

If you would like to join in, help out or donate please contact the Chair of the PTFA, Lois Clarke on StDavidsColwinstonPTA@gmail.com

You can also follow us on Facebook "St David's Colwinston PTA". where you can see our latest News and Events.

Old & Foreign Money raises money for the school

Here at St Davids we’re busy fundraising by collecting old British or foreign coins and notes, even obsolete currency. Initially you'll see lots of posters around the school as well as the collection bucket. Once all the currency has been collected we send it to www.cash4coins.co.uk who exchanges it into cash we can use.

The bucket will be here all year so keep it coming please. Thank you to the community who have also helped with donations.

Cinema Night

We regularly hold Cinema Nights for the children after school to reward them for all their hard work in getting good results for the school. They all enjoy the sandwiches and popcorn too!

We even featured in our local newspaper, The Cowbridge Gem which you can view here.
