Saving the planet, one action at a time…

We will help children in St. David’s C/W Primary School understand more about our planet and what we can do to protect it and those that live here. We will also spread this message to our village community so they can help too!

Our St David’s C/W Eco Code

• Everyone stop littering,
• Conservation is the key,
• Our plants and minibeasts need a place to be,
• Colwinston needs to be clean every day,
• On when using, off when not!
• Don’t let our planet get too hot!
• Everyone follow our eco-code.

We achieved our Platinum Award and have had this renewed in July 2025. We want to remain a Platinum Eco School and there are things we could all be doing in school and at home.

Our mission for the Spring term is to cut the amount of food waste at St. David's.  In our first meeting of the term, we found out about food waste in Wales and the problems it causes for our environment.  We spoke to our School cook, Mrs Isaac who told us that food waste in our school is a big problem.  We aim to take on the challenge of reducing food waste. 

We have designed a questionnaire to start our mission to try to work out why we have food waste at school because the food Mrs Isaac cooks is so delicious. . Following this, we will get to work with an action plan.  We may also try to tackle food waste at home too.
