Wellbeing Warriors

Wellbeing Warriors Mission team strive to ensure that St David's is a ‘Healthy School’. This is one which takes responsibility for maintaining and promoting the health of all who ‘learn, work, play and live’ within it not only by formally teaching pupils about how to lead healthy lives but by enabling pupils and staff to take control over aspects of the school environment which influence their health.

It actively promotes, protects and embeds the physical, mental and social health and well being of its community through positive action.

There are three core values: Belonging, efficacy and voice.

What have we been up to in our Mission Team this year?

Autumn 1

For our first half term, our mission team concentrated on Hygiene. The Wellbeing warriors performed an demonstration investigation in each class in school to see how effective our handwashing was using a special gel and UV torches. It was a surprise how much we missed! We have been more careful since to help stop the spread of germs.

Autumn 2

During this half term we delved into Personal Relationships and shared important anti-bullying videos  and activities with all classes in school. We also created anti-bullying posters which we put up around the school.

Spring 1

During this half term we have been looking at Substance Use. For this theme we discussed our 'smoke-free' school principles and took a close look at energy and sports drinks. We studied the caffeine content of a variety of popular drinks and told our classes the results, giving them some information about the dangers of consuming too much of these substances.
